Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (Book and Audio CD) (Paperback) In this bright and lively rhyme, the letters of the alphabet race each other to the top of the coconut tree. When X, Y, and Z finally scramble up the trunk, however, the weight is too much, and down they all tumble in a colorful chaotic heap: “Chicka Chicka . . . BOOM! BOOM!” All the family members race to help, as one by one the letters recover in amusingly battered fashion. Poor stubbed toe E has a swollen appendage, while F sports a jaunty Band-Aid, and P is indeed black-eyed. As the tropic sun goes down and a radiant full moon appears, indomitable A leaps out of bed, double-daring his colleagues to another treetop race. This nonsense verse delights with its deceptively simple narrative and with the repetition of such catchy phrases as “skit skat skoodle doot.” Ehlert’s bold color scheme, complete with hot pink and orange borders, matches the crazy mood perfectly. Children will revel in seeing the familiar alphabet transported into this madcap adventure.
Customer Review: Even adults never tire of this one!!!
I work in an elementary school with children of all ages and do a ton of babysitting. When I first heard this CD I fell in love with it. Every child that I’ve introduced to it has also loved it. It’s one book/CD even an adult won’t get tired of listening to!
Customer Review: great way to learn the abc’s
I first saw this book in my son’s special education classroom. His teacher had the big book version along with the tape. The children loved hearing the song and singing along as the teacher turned the page. The illustrations are vivid and the tune on the audio cd is very “catchy”. Two years later my son still loves the book and cd.

This product is an exhaustive guide to the various phrases or “riffs” that make up Blues saxophone playing, both from a rhythmic and soloing standpoint. This book is ideal for most levels of musicianship, from the beginner/intermediate student who is interested in understanding and playing the Blues to more advanced players that need new ideas to help stimulate their creativity. It is also useful as a tool for improving one’s sight reading abilities with the examples being in many different keys and rhythms. Customer Review: To practice Blues
It’s a good book to start to play blues and jazz with saxophone, but pieces are so small so it’s difficult to play them correctly at the beginning.

Tell Me a Scary Story… But Not Too Scary! (Book & Audio CD) For all those kids who love to be scared on Halloween–but not too scared, award-winning director and comedy writer Carl Reiner produces a real spine chiller. He also offers plenty of outs for the faint of heart: “Is it getting too scary for you? Should I keep going? Okay, if you say so.” No red-blooded young reader will be able to resist this tantalizing tale of monsters and mystery. The narrator (depicted by Jerry Seinfeld’s Halloween illustrator, James Bennett, to look exactly like Carl Reiner) cozies up with his granddaughter to tell her all about the man he met when he was a child: Mr. Neewollah. Mr. Neewollah has a crooked smile (we have several creepy child’s-eye views) and some very strange hobbies. Young Carl is lured into his basement workshop only to be scared out of his wits by fake eyeballs, creaking doors, and creepy things covered with cloth–not to mention hideous monsters. But is Mr. Neewollah truly as sinister as he seems? In his first book for children, Reiner gets that kids love to be spooked–and to know that all is well, too. Bennett’s exaggerated illustrations, featuring weird angles and vivid, in-your-face close-ups, are a good match for Reiner’s Halloween tale. Too busy in your own evil workshop to read aloud to the kids? Fear not! The book includes a CD featuring Reiner reading the story accompanied by eerie sound effects. (Ages 6 to 9) –Emilie Coulter
Customer Review: Preview before buying
I will start with the positive: The CD reading is great. Mr.Reiner asking whether he should read on is really cute and engaging. My 4 year old son loved it. The illustrations are great.
That being said…There are more than enough scary halloween stories that don’t deal with young children being tempted into a creepy mans basement. After each page I kept saing things like “now if a creepy neighbor invites you somewhere do you go? ” I think the one thing that would have made the book better is if the neighbor wasn’t a person and was maybe a goblin.
I would suggest borrowing this from the library so you can preview before buying it and maybe an older age range would suit the book.
Customer Review: Great book
My son got this book for his 4th birthday. We had to read it about 20 times that week. He is 6 now and this is still his favorite book! I read it to a group of kids at a halloween party and they loved it too!
